The mission statement for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul:
"Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul"
The core values are: Holiness of Life, Service of the Poor, Humility, Simplicity, Charity and Community of Faith.
With money donated by member of St. Helena Parish, the group purchases food and provides utility assistance to families in difficult situations. At this moment, we are not assisting with utilities. We are only assisting with food by appointment. Please call the Parish Office to leave your information.
In addition to food and utility assistance, the Group collects school supplies at the beginning of the school year to give to the children of needy families in the neighborhood. At Thanksgiving the group provides Turkey and chicken to the families for Holiday meals.
If you are interested in volunteering with our St. Vincent de Paul Society, please call the parish office to leave your infomation.
