In September of every year, mature parishioners are invited to apply for lay liturgical ministry in sevral areas. Parishioners must be practicing Catholic who have received the sacraments of Eucharist, Reconciliation, Confirmation and, if married, are married in the Catholic Church. Each ministry requires initial training, commissioning, and periodic re-training for any changes in liturgy.
Applicants must be willin to be on time and consistent in the practice of their ministry, notify others if they will be unable to fulfill their assignment and be present, in addition to Sunday services, for Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, or services for Confirmation and Holy Communion. Positions are always available for Eucharistic Ministers, Ministers to the Sick, Lectors, Ministers of Hospitality, Altar Servers, and Music Ministry.
Commissioning of lay ministers takes place on Christ the King Sunday. Contact Laura for more information.
