The Society was formed in 1995. The purpose of this formation is to promote a deeper devotion and recognition of our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of God, Mother of the Americas, and our Mother.
We will strive to develop spiritual, as well as material, projects, with the help of the Archbishop, pastor, and the Society's members. Both men & women are welcome, thus making the Society a family prayer Society.
The Society takes an active part in the celebration of our Blessed Mother in the month of May ("Month of Mary"). In the month of December, on the 12th, we again celebrate in her honor the day of "Virgin de Guadalupe", a very special traditional doctrine in the Hispanic Community. We do this by offering a bilingual (Spanish and English) Mass with all the traditional mariachi music, matachines, and a reception after the mass in which all the attendees are invited.
The Society takes on projects by providing assistance within our parish, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the RCIA Program, and by providing Spanish missalettes to our Parishioners. The Society has a one-time "fund raiser" in May, to pay all expenses for our Lady's Mass on December 12th, and still have monies left over to give back to our parish.
We have a special Mass on the 2nd Sunday of every month, intended for our members and their families. Our regular monthly meetings are on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, from 7-9pm. In these meetings we recite the rosary, are open to any petitions and reflect on the readings of the coming Sunday.
