    First Holy Communion

Sacrament Preparation for First Communion is a two year process.

First communion is celebrated after the completion of  two consecutive years participation in religious education classes.

If the child completed their 1st year at another parish, a letter acknowledging participation must be submitted.

    Required Document: Original Baptism Certificate

If the child is in 4th grade or above, parents and child must participate in several  Saturday sessions during the year to ensure a fundamental knowledge of the basics of our faith.

The role of parents in forming Christian values in their children is irreplaceable.
We are partners with parents in the preparation of the children for first Reconciliation and first Eucharist.

Parents of children in preparation for First Communion therefore must participate:
    • in  workshops to update their understanding of the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.
    • in preparing their child at home with materials  that are explained at the  workshop
    • in parent-child retreat days.
