In October of 2013, Fr. Lénin established a Building Board to put together a Master Plan for St. Helena. A survey was given to parishioners to ask for input on the needs of our parish.
In 2014, Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller approved the Building Fund Account, which you may have noticed on your contribution envelopes. Currently, the Building Fund account has a balance of $2,700,000. This money is designated for new buildings and cannot be used for the General Operating Budget of the parish. Before any ground is broken, the Archdiocese requires that the parish have at least one-half of the projected cost in the Building Fund. The estimated cost of the project is $6,000,000.
Phase One: The Faith Formation Building
With a new Faith Formation Building, we will be able to strengthen our faith within our community by adding much-needed classroom space. This will be of benefit to the children in faith formation, and for those adults in programs like Bible Study, RCIA, and Young Adult Ministry. With more classrooms for our education programs, the Dolan Center will be available for use by ministries and organizations by providing increased meeting space.
